For Producers
What is vGreens Lab?
vGreens Lab is a production intelligence platform designed to improve the predictability of yield volume, quality, and delivery timing. It connects sensors, cameras, and operational data to provide early visibility into plant development and potential deviations. The goal is simple: • More reliable harvest forecasts • Fewer operational surprises • Better alignment with buyers
Who is it for?
vGreens Lab is built for professional fruit and vegetable producers operating in: • Polytunnels • Greenhouses • Indoor farms It is particularly valuable for operations with delivery contracts or high planning pressure.
What does it change in daily operations?
vGreens Lab builds on your expertise. The system runs in the background, providing early insights and alerts so you can act with greater confidence. You gain: • Earlier and more accurate harvest forecasts • Alerts for climate, growth, or stress deviations • Improved labor planning • Better coordination with distributors • Fewer manual checks through system integration and push notifications directly to your smartphone
How does the system work?
1. Sensors and cameras capture plant and environmental data 2. The software analyzes development patterns 3. You receive forecasts, alerts, and recommendations 4. Optional: Integration with climate and irrigation systems for closed-loop control
What needs to be installed on-site?
Our team will install a standardized sensor and camera package in the crop area, plus a compact server unit (600 x 450 x 500 mm) in the technical room. In most cases, existing climate computers can be integrated after technical assessment.
How long does installation take?
Installation typically takes anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, depending on the size and structure of your operation. For reference: farms of around 5 hectares can usually be equipped in under one week. After installation, the system begins learning your production environment: • Alerting becomes reliable within approximately two weeks. • Stable and robust yield predictions typically require around eight weeks of calibration. You’ll start seeing useful insights early on. As more operational data is collected, forecasts become increasingly precise and tailored to your farm.
Do I need to change the way I work?
No, your daily operations remain the same. vGreens Lab provides early insights, forecasts, and alerts giving you a stronger data foundation for decisions you already make every day. The goal is greater confidence and fewer surprises – not more complexity.
How accurate are the predictions?
Prediction accuracy improves over time as the system learns from your farm data. All forecasts are aligned with your actual delivery targets. Harvest teams may require minor alignment to ensure predicted and harvested quantities match.
What does vGreens Lab cost?
Our pricing starts from €100 per hectare per month. • No setup fee • No hardware fee in the standard setup • Pricing scales based on farm size and complexity Larger operations receive customized proposals.
What about ROI?
Every farm is different – economic impact depends on selling price, planning reliability, and the reduction of deviations. vGreens Lab primarily supports: • More accurate harvest planning • Reliable delivery volumes • Reduced operational surprises • Increased production security through early alerting
Can the system automatically control my farm?
The primary focus is prediction, monitoring, and alerting. Closed-loop control (automatic adjustment of climate or irrigation) is technically possible but depends on your existing climate computer and infrastructure. This is assessed individually.
Who owns my data?
All production and operational data belong to the producer. vGreens receives usage rights exclusively for: • Providing the service • System maintenance • Model improvement (only anonymized and aggregated) Data is never shared with third parties without explicit consent.
Who has access to my data?
Only you and the users you authorize. User permissions can be managed directly within the platform by the farm manager. Access rights are contractually defined.
Can I start small?
Yes, pilot areas are common and often recommended before scaling to the entire farm.
When does vGreens Lab not make sense?
• Very small operations without delivery pressure • Farms not interested in data-driven production • Operations unwilling to complete the calibration phase
For Distributors
Why is vGreens relevant for distributors?
vGreens improves predictability across the supply chain. Distributors benefit from: • Earlier visibility into expected volumes • Early warnings in case of deviations • Fewer last-minute surprises • More efficient communication with producers
Does the distributor see all farm data?
No, only data explicitly shared by the producer is visible. The producer retains full ownership and control over all operational data.
How does integration with distribution work?
vGreens can prepare production data in a structured way to improve forecasting reliability for distributors. The goal: • Better coordination • More stable programs • Fewer short-term changes Data access and usage are governed by separate agreements.
Who pays for the service?
Commercial models are flexible. In many cases, distributors contribute to the service fee, as they directly benefit from improved predictability.
How is it ensured that harvest matches the forecast?
The producer confirms delivery timing and quantities manually. vGreens Lab forecasts support planning – final confirmation remains with the producer.
