Reflecting on vGreens’ First Board Meeting of 2026
The first board meeting of 2026 marked an important moment for vGreens and especially our founders and investors to step back, reflect on the achievements of the past few months, and align on the goals and priorities for the year ahead.
In fast-moving growth phases, our daily tasks can easily dominate attention. Fast decision-making, evolving priorities, and operational momentum often leaves little room for reflection and broader communication. That is exactly why moments like this matter. Board meetings create the space to assess progress with clarity, challenge assumptions, and sharpen focus for what comes next with people who bring their years of expertise and skills to the table.
At vGreens, these exchanges are not understood as reporting exercises for the sake of process. Their value lies in something more substantial: asking the right questions, discussing the right topics, and creating the clarity needed to make strong decisions for the future of the company.
from Reflecting on the Past to Looking Toward the Future
The meeting began with a warm welcome from the Chairman Christoph Tesche of the Zollverein Foundation. From there, the agenda moved directly into key business topics: Recent achievements, relevant facts and figures, goals for the coming months, and the relaunch of the new website were among the points discussed throughout the evening.
Taken together, these topics reflected more than a simple quarterly review. They highlighted where vGreens currently stands, where momentum is building, and where discipline and prioritization will be especially important in the months ahead.
This kind of strategic exchange is particularly valuable in an upscaling phase. As vGreens continues to build at the intersection of biology, technology, and scalable production systems, clarity becomes a core requirement. Ambition alone is not enough. Progress depends on alignment, strategic precision, and the ability to translate long-term vision into concrete priorities and action.
The first quarter of 2026 has already made one thing clear: this year will require discipline, clarity, and continued ambition. In a dynamic environment, strong alignment between management and board is not just helpful, but essential. It creates the foundation for sound decision-making and helps ensure that growth is shaped with focus rather than complexity alone.
Beyond the strategic discussions, the evening also reflected another important dimension of company building: the value of personal exchange. The meeting concluded with currywurst, beer, and continued conversations in a more informal setting, a fitting end to an evening defined by thoughtful discussion, honest feedback, and shared perspective in one of Germany's most historically significant industrial regions: the Ruhr region and even better: right at the Zeche Zollverein in Essen.
With Q1 setting a clear direction, the focus now shifts toward execution. For vGreens, the board meeting was not only a reflection on recent progress, but also a strong foundation for the next milestones ahead.
